Speech Pathology
About
Speech Pathologists are allied health professionals who specialise in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders. These include difficulties with speaking, listening and comprehension, social skills, literacy, stuttering, and using voice.
CapacityPlus currently offers one-off Speech and Language assessments for children in Warrnambool and surrounding areas.

Assessments & Reports
Speech and Language assessments are often sought for the following reasons:
- To better understand speech and language strengths and weaknesses
- To make recommendations for specific Speech Pathology funding and supports (e.g., prior to a NDIS scheduled review or to support an application for an unscheduled review)
- To provide speech and language strategies and recommendations for parents, schools, and support workers to implement while awaiting ongoing Speech Pathology intervention
- To examine pragmatic language and other skills as part of a broader Autism Spectrum Assessment (ASD) assessment, or other diagnostic assessment
Speech and Language assessments typically involve 2 hours of assessment with the individual, followed by several hours formulating the results, creating a report, and providing feedback to the family.
